i-Term
i-Term is one of the newest term- and knowledge base products on the market, and has been developed so as to combine the latest computer technology with the most recent research in the fields of terminology and concept modelling.
The web-based concept and knowledge base can be installed on an Intranet or on the Internet, and it has been developed for larger companies and organisations who wish to structure their terminology and make it available to all their employees.
i-Term combines a tailored technical dictionary, in which words are grouped by subject, with a large number of functions that assemble knowledge about the specific concepts and expressions that are read into i-Term.
For example, in addition to its definition and position in a concept system (and domain-specific ontology), a concept can have associated usage examples, sound and pictures, a comment on any special usage, links to internal and external references, information on experts or other reference material where you can find out more about the subject. The information can be in English or in one or more other languages. All in one tool.
i-Term’s flexible search facilities enable you to search data in all directions, you can link to external websites, PDF files, mail address and the like, and data can be exported and imported in XML format. You can create a source library with names of experts and relevant publications. Additionally, you can set up to five different levels of user access to i-Term.
You can try out i-Term at www.i-term.dk – write to the DANTERMcentre to get access to the demo version.
